One of PESA’s most significant commitments to STEM education is through the IPAA/PESA Education Center. As part of this program, PESA membership supports multiple Petroleum Academies at the high school level, as well as the Energy Institute High School in Houston. HISD’s Energy Institute is dedicated entirely to the development of the geosciences, alternative energy and offshore technology. This first-of-its-kind magnet high school provides students with a multidisciplinary, advanced academic learning experience in science, mathematics and the emerging technology concepts needed to pursue professional training and degrees in engineering, geology, geophysics and global energy management in the oil and natural gas industry.
