Commerce Department Seeks Information on Unnecessary and Burdensome Manufacturing Regulations

The Commerce Department is seeking information on the impact of Federal regulations on domestic manufacturers.  Per a March 7, 2017, notice in the Federal Register, Commerce is asking stakeholders to comment on Federal actions that can streamline permitting for the construction and expansion of manufacturing facilities or reduce the regulatory burdens on domestic manufactures.

The Commerce Department’s action is in response to a January memorandum from President Donald Trump concerning the “Streamlining Permitting and Reducing Burdens for Domestic Manufacturing.”  Per the memorandum, the Departments of Commerce, Energy and Agriculture, as well as the EPA, are to solicit comments from stakeholders in the domestic manufacturing sector on the impact of federal regulations.

Comments must be received by the Commerce Department by 5 pm EST on March 31, 2017.

If you have any questions, please contact PESA Sr. Director of Public Policy, Jean Gould.
