Council Members Support STEM Education at 3rd Annual Shoot for the Stars Tournament

STEM
First-place team Mustang Cat

The Council hosted its third Shoot for the Stars Marksmanship Tournament, supporting STEM energy education programs, on November 18. Participants gathered at Athena Gun Club for a half day of networking and competition.

Proceeds from the tournament support the IPAA/Energy Workforce Education Center, and IPAA/Energy Workforce Middle School STEM Career Exploration Initiative, including targeted middle school programs in the Permian, west Texas and southeast New Mexico, as well as the National Society of Black Engineers elementary school summer STEM camps. The event’s strong turnout demonstrates the Council’s members’ dedication to STEM education.

Council Chair Emeritus and Energy Educators Chair Galen Cobb, Vice President, Industry Relations, Halliburton, kicked off the marksmanship tournament by welcoming attendees and thanking the teams entered in the tournament.

“Thank you to all marksmanship tournament players for supporting the Council’s strong commitment to STEM and excellence in energy education. Your support today is integral to developing the next generation of industry leaders,” Cobb said.
