Council Promotes Helfert to Vice President

The Council has promoted Peggy Helfert to Vice President, Programs and Events. Helfert joined the Council as Director, Membership Services in 2016, and was previously elevated to Senior Director in 2019.

“We’re excited to add Peggy to our senior leadership team,” said Council CEO Leslie Beyer. “She’s an experienced professional whose expertise in training, analytics, education and logistics have served the Council and its members well for the past five years.”

“I’m honored and humbled to accept this new role with the Council,” Helfert said. “I’m committed to our mission of working with our Members to empower the energy workforce of the future and deliver the technological innovations needed for a successful transition to a lower carbon energy future.”

Helfert brought 10 years of oil and gas experience to her role with the Council, including eight years with Cameron, a Schlumberger company, and two with GE Oil & Gas.

As vice president, Helfert will lead the Council’s robust training and events, including signature programs such as the Foreign Service Officers Training Program, the I&D Business Champion Program, Executive Leadership Development, and Leadership Forums.
