PESA Members from eight leading oilfield services and equipment companies came together on November 6 at PESA for a speed mentoring session facilitated by the PESA Executive Leadership Program’s Advanced Business Development participants and the PESA Supply Chain Committee.
Participants gained valuable career advice from seasoned supply chain professionals, meeting for four 15-minute intervals on the topic of negotiations.
Mentees arrived prepared with questions for mentors but without any prior information on who the mentors would be, which participants felt only helped to spur conversation. Cris Baker, President, Sigma Fasteners, said the conversation was more interesting without knowing the questions and allowed for both mentor and mentee to benefit and learn from each other.
“Sometimes I asked as many questions as I answered. Everybody learned,” Baker said.
The one-on-one mentoring sessions created an intimate environment to discuss challenges and development and encourage exchanging of ideas.

Companies represented included ARIES Worldwide Logistics, Baker Hughes, DistributionNOW, Forged Products, Kluber Lubrication, Mustang CAT, NOV and Sigma Fasteners.
