The Energy Workforce & Technology Council has elected new members to its Advisory Board in 2022. The Advisory Board contributes to Energy Workforce’s strategic direction, promotes participation within their companies and serves as key leadership roles in the energy technology and services sector of the oil and gas industry.
The new Advisory Board Members include:
- Erica Baird, President – Industrial Segment, Cummins Sales & Service North America
- January McKee, President, AMGAS Services
- Bruce Miller, VP, Director of Government & Industry Affairs, Schlumberger
- Megan Oberly, Vice President – Solutions Marketing, Helmerich & Payne
- Ryan Phillips, Chairman, Axis Energy Services
Erica Baird is the President – Industrial Segment for Cummins Sales & Service North America. In her role she provides leadership for the North American off-highway sales & service applications including the Oil & Gas, Marine, Mining, Rail, Construction, and Agricultural markets.
Prior to joining Cummins, Erica had an extensive career at Caterpillar, where she was their Global Allied Products Manager. In this role, Erica was responsible for the negotiations, delivery, and growth for all aspects of this segment including strategy, pricing, dealer relationship management, process development, and quality in the allied products space. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a B.S. in mining engineering.
January McKee is President at AMGAS Services. January joined AMGAS after having departed a promising career in the banking industry. Her quick rise through the financial industry prepared her for the leadership requirements of upper management in the energy sector. January took over as General Manager of the Alberta-based oil and gas services organization, AMGAS, which specializes in the equipment, service and chemical control of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in 2007. Her leadership helped move AMGAS from an Alberta focused service company to a world player in H2S and BTEX control offering equipment, chemicals, expertise and on-site service to ensure optimal efficiency and tailor made solutions to customers domestic and abroad. January was appointed President in 2011, the youngest in the company’s 25-year history.
January received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
Bruce Miller is VP, Director of Government & Industry Affairs at Schlumberger. He has worked at Schlumberger his entire career, in differing roles such as VP Global Account Director – Chevron, Measurements Manager – Drilling & Measurements, and Asia Marketing & Sales Manager – Wireline, and Chevron Global Account Manager for Wireline.
He has a bachelor’s degree in geology and a master’s degree in structural geology, both from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Megan Oberly is Vice President, Solutions Marketing at Helmerich & Payne, the largest drilling rig and automation provider in the U.S. In this role, Megan leads the drilling automation and rig innovation product management functions, new customer business development, industry affairs, and marketing strategy. Working with all functional groups and geo-markets, she guides strategic messaging and market approaches that continue to elevate H&P’s differentiation in delivering better drilling outcomes.
Megan joined Helmerich & Payne after spending 10 years at a major oil & gas services company. Her prior leadership experience encompassed a broad range of product segments and functional areas.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from the Bauer College of Business at The University of Houston.
Ryan Phillips is Chairman of the Board for Axis Energy Services and a Principal at B29 Investments. Prior to joining B-29, Ryan spent 15 years with Halliburton where he started in the field as a Frac Engineer before taking on various roles focused on pressure pumping. Before leaving Halliburton, he was Permian Basin Operations Manager and was accountable for all product lines in the Permian.
Ryan received his MBA from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M and his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M.
