Texas Natural Gas Summit October 23, 2014
PESA Member Companies are participating in the first Texas Natural Gas Summit and Job Fair this Thursday in Austin at the Palmer Events Center.
The event is free and open to the public. It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Job seekers can connect with employers hiring for more than 10,000 job openings. PESA Member Companies GE, Halliburton, Caterpillar, Nabors, National Oilwell Varco and Baker Hughes are among the companies that will be at the event.
Texas Railroad Commissioner David Porter coordinated the event and invited hundreds of transitioning servicemen and women from Camp Bullis, Camp Mabry, Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base to meet with energy industry recruiters.
The Railroad Commission said, “last year oil and gas jobs grew nearly 5 percent statewide and helped Texas lead the nation in job creation.” The commission invites the public to attend the Texas Natural Gas Summit, an event that will showcase companies that are creating good jobs by increasing the use of Texas natural gas to fuel vehicles and oilfield equipment.
