The Roadshow seeks to change perceptions by highlighting investment opportunities in Africa and to forge stronger connections between African companies in key growth sectors and their U.S. counterparts. The Initiative for Global Development (IGD) is a network of African and global business leaders who are committed to sustainable development and inclusive growth through business investment in Africa. IGD’s Frontier Leader Network includes U.S., African, and global companies such as Chevron, Microsoft Africa, GE, Dangote Group Industries, Africa Finance Corporation, Visa, Illovo Sugar, Attijariwafa Bank, Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI), Confédération Générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire, among others.
IGD will host its inaugural Africa Investment Rising Roadshow Tour on April 18-May 1, 2018 highlighting different industries across four cities in the U.S. Under the theme, “Africa Investment Rising: Building Momentum for Investing in Africa’s Economic Prosperity”, the Roadshow seeks to change perceptions by highlighting investment opportunities in Africa and to forge stronger connections between African companies in key growth sectors and their U.S. counterparts.
In Houston, the group will focus on Energy and Power with an investor roundtable on “Maximizing Africa’s Energy Potential for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth” on April 30th at Orrick Law Offices in downtown Houston.
