PESA to Host Webinar on OSHA Silica Rule Compliance

OSHAOn June 23, 2018, the oil and natural gas industry must be in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) new standards for respirable crystalline silica. While OSHA finalized the rule in 2016, it provided general industry (which includes oil and gas) two years to achieve compliance. OSHA lowered the Permissible Exposure Level (PEL) by 50% to 50 micrograms/cubic meter. Key requirements for the revised regulation include exposure assessments, exposure control plans medical surveillance and recordkeeping.

The PESA Environmental Policy Committee will host a webinar to provide a general overview of compliance requirements on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Registration is open to members and non-members.

If you have any questions or would like more information on the webinar, please contact PESA Director Public Policy Jean Gould or call 713-933-1920.
