The Community Based Solutions Firm

Amanda K. Edwards is an attorney and native Houstonian with a passion for empowering communities through solutions, engagement and public service. Amanda currently serves as the President & CEO of The Community Based Solutions Firm, and she is the founder and Board President of Be The Solution: Community Empowerment Organization. From 2016-2020, Amanda served as the Houston City Council Member in At-Large Position 4. During her tenure as a City Council Member, Amanda served as Vice Chair of the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Committee. She also served on the Economic Development Committee and the Transportation, Technology and Infrastructure Committee. While on City Council, Amanda initiated and led the Mayor’s Technology & Innovation Task Force to cultivate a stronger innovation economy in Houston. She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University and a juris doctor from Harvard Law School.

Halliburton Labs

As Executive Director at Halliburton Labs, Scott oversees External Engagement and collaborates to build a thriving clean energy community on the Third Coast and around the world. He actively supports multiple startup organizations as a mentor, advisor, and investor. After five years in chemical sales and product management, he joined Halliburton in 2014 where he managed multiple strategic efforts taking new technologies from ideation to commercial success at scale. Scott holds a chemical engineering degree from Brigham Young University and is a graduate of Rice Business. He serves on the Rice Business Alumni Association Board and the Energy Advisory Board for the Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator.

 

Juliana Garaizar, Head of Houston Incubator and VP of Innovation
Greentown Labs

Juliana is the Head of Houston Incubator and VP of Innovation for Greentown Labs. A Board Member of the Angel Capital Association, Juliana is a Lead Investor of the Portfolia Rising America Fund that invests in BIPOC and LGTBQ founders, as well as the Portfolia Consumer and Rising Tide Funds. She is also an Advisory Board Member of the University of Houston Cougar Venture Fund, the Houston Diversity Fund, the Investors of Color network and Impulse4women. A Kauffman Fellow experienced in Bridging the Gender Gap in investing, she is part of the City of Houston’s Women Commission. Juliana was the Texas Medical Center Venture Fund Director and the Managing Director of the Houston Angel Network. She was the Manager of the French Riviera’s Sophia Business Angels network and Antipolis Innovation Campus and Project Manager of several International Projects funded by the European Commission. Previously, Juliana worked for five years in Singapore: first as an International Trade Consultant for the Trade Commission of Spain in a broad range of industry sectors and then as a Project Manager for the Asia Technology Office of Citigroup, leading projects at the international level. Juliana obtained an MBA at the London Business School and Haas School of Business in Berkeley, specializing in Entrepreneurship.

Naïla Giovanni has been appointed Chief Digital & Information Systems Officer since October 1st, 2020. Naïla began her career in 1995 as a financial auditor before joining the Oracle Group as a project manager. In 2001, she joined Arthur Andersen, now BearingPoint, where she worked for 12 years on consulting missions for the Energy and Industry sectors. She joined Vallourec in 2013 to head the Internal Audit department before being appointed Chief Transformation Officer. In this role, she notably drove the Group’s new organization, strengthened performance management, implemented a cultural change program and initiated the strategic diversification of the company around the Energy Transition. Naïla Giovanni holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Bordeaux.

 

frodeFrode Jensen, Sr. Vice President Sales and Product Line

Frode started with NOV (Hydralift) in 1995 after finishing his Master of Science in structural engineering at the Norwegian Technical University (NTH), and has MBA courses in innovation and business development. He has served in a number of roles including Vice President Engineering, Managing Director NOV Norway, Vice President Product Line Management before his current role as Sr. VP Sales and Product Line.

 

Sebastien Lehnherr, CIO
Schlumberger

Lehnherr brings nearly 20 years of experience driving strategic technology and security initiatives at Schlumberger, which will be instrumental as Onapsis guides customers on the next phase of their digital transformation journeys. A proven technology executive with a strong cybersecurity and operations track record, Lehnherr possesses a keen understanding of what it takes to deploy differentiated technologies and applications to drive performance and support digital transformation ambitions. Lehnherr has held various information technology, software product development and cybersecurity leadership positions at Schlumberger, including Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), where he oversaw the company’s global, enterprise-wide security strategy.

 

ScottScott Sanderson, Global Director, Business Development
AWS Energy & Utilities

Scott is a Director in AWS’ global Energy & Utilities business, where he leads development activities in energy-specific cloud-based solutions.  He has been an Energy professional for over 30 years, working in Nuclear Energy, and Upstream and Downstream Oil and Gas.  He spent 18 years, including ten as an Partner in Deloitte Consulting’s Energy Practice, was an Independent Operator (six different assets both onshore and marine), and an Energy Merger and Acquisition Investment Banker. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
