PESA Board of Directors and Executive Committee
PESA’s Board of Directors and executive team recently engaged in a long-range planning meeting to design the Association’s strategy and objectives over the next three years.
Facilitated by Member Company Accenture, the group defined and prioritized initiatives as part of a three-year roadmap:
- environment, social and governance (ESG)
- energy transition
- legislative and regulatory affairs
ESG
Answering the rising importance of ESG in capital markets, PESA will lead the sector by educating Member Companies on ESG reporting options, demonstrating positive contributions made by the sector, and conveying that message to government officials, regulators and others. The formation of the ESG Committee was the first step in this initiative, with committee members planning a range of training seminars focused on best practices and collaboration, as well as engaging ratings agencies to better work with our sector. The first of these seminars will occur in the fall.
ENERGY TRANSITION
The nature of all industries change over time. The energy industry is no exception. As the national trade organization for the energy services and equipment sector, PESA must embrace this change and be a leading voice in the transition. A stronger focus on natural gas and collaboration with renewables technologies have broad implications on the industry, and PESA will explore what that means for both Members and their customers.
LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY AFFAIRS
PESA will continue to focus on federal and state legislative affairs, with an eye towards broadening support from local constituencies, including the respective state-based trade organizations. By expanding PESA’s presence, advocacy and education efforts across key states, Member Companies will have a stronger voice at the state level. PESA will ramp up its state-level government affairs work by hosting a series of policy forums in states where our sector operates heavily, as well as coordinate Congressional tours at Member Company facilities. The first forum will be in New Mexico with further events in Texas, Colorado, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
