Member Companies Showcase Emerging Technologies

Advisory Board Member Jill Massonne, Allison Transmission

At recent member company energy technology showcases, the newest equipment on display showcased innovation, performance, and efficiency for the oilfield.

After a difficult year, the energy services sector is doubling down on developing and refining technologies to achieve improved efficiency for themselves and customers. By doing so, the sector is focusing on core areas of expertise and delivering more with less — fewer emissions, less energy consumption, and less downtime.

At NexTier, the company is providing solutions to its customers with a range of digital options that address ESG. Its focus on developing equipment for demanding reservoirs throughout North America led to its development of a proprietary real-time digital platform and dual-fuel frac fleets, which use natural gas instead of diesel fuel.

Allison Transmission showcased the new FracTran, a hydraulic fracturing transmission in its Oil Field Series throughout North America. Developed over the past two years with inputs from its main customers, the transmission is designed to increase productivity while maintaining high reliability and performance.

The showcases reflect increasing customer demand for productivity and lower emissions. Part of the Council’s advocacy includes educating stakeholders on innovation from the energy services and technology sector. This will be a key point of emphasis during the October Washington D.C. Fly In where the Council provides members the opportunity to connect face to face with congressional members on Capitol Hill and engage with various U.S. departments and bureaus.

The Council’s Energy In Transition podcast also provides leaders in the industry a platform to discuss the newest technologies and the path ahead in a world of lower-carbon energy development. Similarly, the Energy Transition and Technology Committee is committed to sharing best practices in innovation and promoting new solutions that also help to meet sustainability and efficiency goals.
