PESA members meet with Sen. Ted Cruz in 2017.
Representatives from PESA member companies will visit lawmakers and staff on Capitol Hill as part of the annual PESA Washington Fly-In, occurring February 12-13. The Fly-in is an important part of PESA’s efforts to elevate the profile of the oilfield service, supply, and manufacturing sector to policymakers and advocate for policies that support our sector.
As the Trump Administration and Congress move forward with an ambitious 2018 agenda, PESA leaders will share our sector’s support of key policy issues including offshore access, regulatory reform and a modernized North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). There will be more than 20 meetings scheduled over two days with lawmakers from both parties in the House and the Senate. In addition, attendees will gain the insight of energy experts from policy institutes.
The U.S. State Department will host a coffee for Fly-In participants in honor of the 25th Anniversary of the PESA Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Training Program. Alumni from the FSO Training Program will be in attendance along with a tentative visit by U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. A potential meeting with EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is under consideration. Finally, Fly-In attendees will participate in a joint reception with NOIA members honoring Bob Moran’s service to the oil and gas industry and multiple industry trade associations.
