Board Member Ron Gusek, President of Liberty Energy, Shares Insights at Leadership Forum

Leadership Forum with Board Member Ron Gusek, President of Liberty Energy

Energy Workforce hosted a leadership forum last week featuring Board Member Ron Gusek, President of Liberty Energy. Ron shared his career journey with attendees and highlighted the impact “Intentional Planning” has had, and continues to have, on his career.

Before the forum began, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a networking activity and connect with others in the room.

Molly Determan, President of Energy Workforce, kicked off the forum and welcomed participants, followed by Emerging Executives Chair Ayodeji Daramola, who then introduced Ron Gusek.

Ron centered his presentation around “Intentional Planning,” emphasizing how each step in his career has led him to where he is today. He shared with participants key strategies and mindsets that they can utilize to aid them in their careers.

One key point Ron stressed was the need for anyone in a leadership position, or anyone wanting to step into a leadership position, to understand everyone’s roles in the company and what their job duties consist of. Ron shared ways he made sure he felt equipped to successfully fulfill his role as President by taking all the steps necessary to understand the ins and outs of the industry.

Aside from sharing the importance of understanding the industry as a leader, Ron discussed how a critical moment in his career made him realize he wanted to be on a company’s Executive Leadership Team and be a part of the strategic decision making.

“My career journey has been a series of intentional steps. I knew I wanted to be involved in shaping a company and making executive decisions, so I made it a point to seize every opportunity and take the necessary steps to get to where I am today.”

Before opening the discussion for a Q&A with participants, Ron highlighted the importance of surrounding yourself with a positive network of people and the impact a great mentor can have on one’s career.

“If you want to be in a leadership role, it’s important to have a coach to help you along the way, in both your professional and personal life.”
