Energy Workforce Health, Safety & Environmental Committee Releases Industry Guidelines for Human and Organizational Performance

The Energy Workforce & Technology Council’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Committee is proud to announce the release of Ignite Your Organization: Human and Organizational Performance Playbook in January 2025. This industry guidelines document serves as an essential resource for organizations looking to strengthen their approach to Human and Organizational Performance (HOP).

Developed by EWTC’s HSE HOP task force led by Lamberto Nonno, Director of HSE Governance and Customer Excellence, and Abdelsalam Yasseen, Senior HSE Programs Manager at Baker Hughes, the playbook provides an introductory framework to HOP, including key concepts, fundamental definitions, and actionable steps for implementation within an organization.

The Importance of Human Organizational Performance

In today’s fast-evolving energy sector, success is driven not just by technology, but by the alignment of people, processes, and systems. HOP is no longer an abstract goal—it is a strategic necessity. By integrating HOP principles, companies can foster innovation, resilience, and operational excellence—leading to improved safety outcomes, stronger risk management, and enhanced overall performance.
