Energy Workforce Celebrates 26th Annual Explorers of Houston Golf Tournament

On March 27, Energy Workforce & Technology Council hosted and celebrated its 26th Annual Explorers of Houston Golf Tournament — a day for Members to network and cultivate relationships at the Golf Club of Houston. The event’s strong turnout demonstrates the industry’s dedication to the advancement of our industry, as tournament proceeds support educating on behalf of the oil field services and equipment sector.

Energy Workforce Board Member Steven Anderson, President & CEO of Evolution Well Services, welcomed attendees and thanked the teams that entered the tournament.

Competing in a scramble, the first-place team included Phil Everson, B&L Pipeco Services; Gene Hunt, B&L Pipeco Services; Scott Hudson, Tiburon Oil & Gas; and Curt Kaelber, Encino Energy.

The second-place team included Richard Leaper, Milestone Environmental Services; Daniel Boone, Milestone Environmental Services; Nathan Boone, Milestone Environmental Services; and Matt Garner, Mallard Creek Polymers.

The third-place award went to Bruce Miller, Scott Ballard, Ben Rebstock, and Chris Gruba, all representing SLB.

Steven Anderson and Tim Tarpley, President, Energy Workforce & Technology Council, presented the awards. Individual winners were:

  • Straightest Drive: Randy King, Mustang Cat
  • Closest to the Pin: John Brown, WOM USA
  • Closest to the Pin in 2: Gordy Lamb, NOV
  • Longest Drive: Chris Jerez, Halliburton
  • The Houston Golf Club giveaway winner was Matt Oehler, PropX.
