EWTC Speaks on Empowering the Next Generation of Industry Leaders

At the 2025 Wellsite Facilities Congress, Energy Workforce President Molly Determan presented “𝐵𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑁𝑒𝑥𝑡-𝐺𝑒𝑛 𝐹𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒 𝑊𝑖𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝐿𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐴𝑙𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑘𝑠,” where she emphasized the need for the energy industry to:

🔹Empower today’s workforce and prepare the next generation of energy professionals
🔹Invest in education and training that translates into long-term paths for the workforce of today and tomorrow
🔹Build value-driven environments that attract, retain, and inspire top talent

She also participated in a panel discussion, “𝐴𝑑𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑇𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐺𝑎𝑝 & 𝐸𝑛𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐷𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛-𝑀𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑡𝑜𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑠 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝐷𝑜𝑛’𝑡 𝑅𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝐸𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝐴𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑒.”

During the conversation, Molly spoke about the need to capture institutional knowledge by documenting processes and implementing mentorship programs, ways to attract new talent into the industry, and how we must avoid the mindset of “well, we did it this way, so you’ll do it this way too.”

Molly was joined on the panel by Brett Ingram, Apache Corporation and Zach Voithofer, Elite Optimization, who brought additional perspectives on workforce development and operational excellence.
