Energy Workforce at ADIPEC 2025: Shaping the Future Through Innovation and Global Collaboration

Energy Workforce Engages Global Leaders at ENACT Majlis and ADIPEC 2025

Energy Workforce & Technology Council (EWTC) engaged global industry leaders at ADIPEC 2025 and the ENACT Majlis, advancing conversations on how people, technology, and collaboration will shape the future of energy.

At the ENACT Majlis, held under the theme Energy & AI: Expanding Global Growth, EWTC President Molly Determan joined energy, technology, and investment leaders to discuss how artificial intelligence and human capability together can drive the next era of energy progress.

“If we want AI to reach its potential, global policies have to enable the energy infrastructure that powers it,” Determan said. “Reliable, affordable energy isn’t just an economic issue — it’s the foundation for industry growth and innovation.”

Empowering the Next Generation of Energy Leaders

At the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference, Molly joined Ayesha Al Hammadi (ADNOC Group), Kristin Ruzicka (Weatherford), and Prof. Ghassan Aouad (Abu Dhabi University) for the panel “Next-Gen Thinking: Empowering the Energy Leaders of Tomorrow,” moderated by Gunjan Shroff (KPMG Middle East).

Molly emphasized that energy is a people business. Technology evolves fast, but it’s people who make this industry possible. If the energy sector wants to secure its future, it must invest in the next generation, not just in classrooms, but through opportunity, mentorship, and real-world experience.

Together, the panelists highlighted the importance of shaping a workforce defined by skill, accountability, and adaptability, ready to power the world responsibly and reliably.

AI Leadership Roundtable: The People Side of Artificial Intelligence

Energy Workforce joined member companies Baker Hughes, SLB, and TechnipFMC for the AI Leadership Roundtable “The People Side of Artificial Intelligence: Enhancing Capabilities, Safety, Growth & Innovation,” hosted by Accenture as Knowledge Partner and moderated by Jessica Van Singel.

Molly emphasized that AI is only as strong as the people who use it. She noted that AI’s first major win will be in safety, with predictive systems capable of cutting downtime by up to 50% and reducing incidents by nearly 20%, but only if workers trust AI as a tool that protects them, not replaces them.

As an industry, we’re building a future where human ingenuity and digital intelligence work side by side, creating a more resilient energy workforce.

Building Future-Ready Energy Organizations

During the roundtable “Empowering Organizations for a Future-Ready Energy Sector” hosted by Aramco and KPMG, Molly joined leaders from across the global energy industry to discuss adaptability as the new benchmark for leadership.

She emphasized that the companies winning in the AI era will have flatter, faster decision-making and leaders who can pivot as quickly as markets do. Embedding digital and AI fluency across every role—while fostering cultures of purpose and growth—will define the energy companies that thrive in the years ahead.

Roundtable participants included representatives from ADNOC, Weatherford, Baker Hughes, Schneider Electric, Mubadala Energy, TotalEnergies, NNPC Limited, TAQA Group, bp MENA, and others, reflecting a united commitment to designing for change, not just adapting to it.

Leading Conversations at ADIPEC

Throughout the week, Molly connected with industry leaders and member companies on the ADIPEC show floor, highlighting the value of Energy Workforce membership and the importance of continued collaboration.

In an interview with The National News, she shared:

“Public understanding hasn’t caught up with how much innovation is happening in this industry. Energy is scaling, not shrinking. Companies are being deliberate about managing this shift by focusing on leadership development, reskilling, and building adaptable teams. That’s less about numbers and more about readiness for what’s ahead.”

Connecting Across the Industry

Molly was honored to be a guest of AIQ at the ADIPEC Gala and later joined Upright Digital’s Global Energy Soirée, where EWTC and Forum Energy Technologies hosted a cabana welcoming members and partners from across the industry, including Olivier Le Peuch, CEO of SLB.

She also met with member companies at their booths, seeing firsthand the technologies and teamwork driving the sector forward, and joined the Women of Weatherford for dinner and thoughtful discussion on the leadership shaping the future of energy services.

From AI and workforce innovation to leadership and industry collaboration, EWTC was proud to represent our members on the global stage at ENACT Majlis and ADIPEC 2025, showcasing the people, partnerships, and progress driving the future of energy.
