The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power held a hearing on June 12th regarding the EPA’s pending proposal to revise the ozone standard. Janet McCabe, EPA Acting Assistant Administrator, Air and Radiation, testified. On Tuesday, June 16th, the Energy and Commerce Subcommittees on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade and Energy & Power also held a joint hearing on the potential impacts of the ozone rule on U.S. manufacturing. The genesis of the hearing is a study done by the National Association of Manufacturers which found that the proposed rule could be the costliest ever put forth by EPA.
