Enhancing U.S. Oil and Gas Sector Export Competitiveness Roundtable with the U.S. Department of Commerce

The International Trade Policy Committee invites you to a roundtable discussion with the U.S. Department of Commerce and Asia Society members. The roundtable will focus on developing country-specific strategies to increase U.S. energy and related exports to the region by improving market access and commercial opportunities. Assistant Secretary and Director General for Global Markets Elizabeth Walsh will lead the delegation and is also interested in hearing about issues affecting the oil and gas sector outside Asia (including NAFTA and domestic manufacturing).

Elizabeth Erin Walsh
Assistant Secretary for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce

Assistant Secretary Walsh oversees a global network of trade promotion and policy professionals in more than 75 countries. She has more than 25 years of management experience including a decade at the U.S. State Department and as Special Assistant to President Trump. Prior to joining the Trump Administration, she was Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in Asia Pacific.

Walsh holds a bachelor’s in International Relations from Georgetown University and a master’s from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
