PESA Announces New Vice President Tim Tarpley

The Petroleum Equipment & Services Association (PESA) announced today that Tim Tarpley will serve as the group’s Vice President Government Affairs. Tarpley will be based in Houston and report to Leslie Beyer, PESA President.

Tarpley most recently served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) and began his legislative career as an aide to Congressman Thornberry (R-TX). As a lynchpin of Congressman Poe’s staff for over nine years, Tim worked on permitting the Keystone pipeline and ending the crude oil export ban.

“On behalf of the PESA Board of Directors, I am incredibly pleased to welcome Tim Tarpley to PESA. Tim’s extensive experience will elevate PESA’s voice to advance issues critical to the oilfield services and equipment sector,” said PESA Chairman Dan Domeracki, Vice President, Government, Industry & Global Stewardship, Schlumberger.

With thirteen years of leadership experience on Capitol Hill, Tarpley will head PESA’s policy operation. His knowledge of trade, the environment, and other critical energy issues will be instrumental as he spearheads PESA’s advocacy efforts in Houston, D.C. and beyond.

“PESA has built a professional team to address the complex issues the oil and gas industry faces at the federal, state and local levels, and we are very excited to welcome Tim. He has an extraordinary network of contacts among government officials and business leaders that will strengthen PESA’s footprint,” said PESA Past Chairman Galen Cobb, VP Industry Relations, Halliburton.

Tarpley holds a juris doctor from Creighton University School of Law and a master of laws from American University Washington College of Law.

“Tim brings the perfect blend of leadership, energy, experience and strategic thinking to this critical role. His expertise will heighten the professionalism of PESA’s policy and government affairs operations, helping us more effectively promote the interests of our members,” said PESA President Leslie Beyer. “PESA is proud to advocate for our members’ regulatory, legislative, and diplomatic priorities. Tim Tarpley will undoubtedly help us become more responsive to these and other policy matters critical to the oilfield services and equipment sector.”

Tarpley will oversee PESA’s Policy, Government Affairs, Environmental Policy, International Trade Policy, Mexico Task Force and Legal committees developing and implementing an integrated strategic plan to advance PESA’s policy positions; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its positions across key stakeholder audiences.

The Petroleum Equipment & Services Association (PESA) is the unified voice for the oilfield services and equipment sector, advocating for and supporting this sector’s achievements in job creation, technological innovation and economic stability. PESA is a trusted resource, advancing member priorities on key industry issues.
