On August 17, PESA joined with industry trade associations in submitting comments to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) regarding the next five-year offshore oil and natural gas leasing program for the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).
The Joint Trade group urged BOEM to make available in the next leasing program all OCS areas having potential oil and natural gas reserves – including the Atlantic, Eastern Gulf of Mexico, Beaufort and Chukchi Seas of Alaska, and the Pacific.
The next step in the process is BOEM’s release of the proposed five-year leasing program which could occur in October 2017.
