PESA/Rice University Fellows Complete Successful Internships

The 2018 PESA Fellows joined Member Companies at Topgolf on July 26 for the annual PESA Executive Address.

The 2018 PESA Fellows joined Member Companies at Topgolf on July 26 for the annual PESA Executive Address.

PESA partners with Rice University’s Center for Civic Leadership to offer Member Companies an opportunity to participate in the PESA Fellowship Program, an internship program for undergraduate students. Students who are studying disciplines not traditionally associated with the oil and gas industry, such as marketing or policy, are matched with Member Companies who use the program to give students a perspective into the industry.

Nine Rice University students completed internships this summer.

The two-month program, which runs through June and July of each year, is part of a credited course at Rice. Companies select an experienced individual within their organization to mentor each fellow. The mentor helps students develop leadership skills, exposes students to learning opportunities within the comapny, and connects the interns with resources in the organization.

The 2018 Fellows and hosting companies were:

  • Eleanor “Ellie” Mix, DistributionNOW
  • Noah Masimore, Gardner Denver
  • Tessa Schreiber, PESA
  • Hang Su, Schlumberger CSR
  • Gita Deva, Schlumberger CSR
  • Rui Zheng, Schlumberger CSR
  • Camille Little, Schlumberger HR
  • Adam Oshan, Schlumberger HR
  • Arese Guobadia, Weir Oil & Gas

PESA will begin recruiting Member Companies to participate in the 2019 program in September. If your company is interested, please contact Beth Bradford, Director, Membership Services.
