Last week, Energy Workforce President Tim Tarpley joined industry professionals at the 2025 UTA Oil & Gas Conference, held in collaboration with OSHA and EPA. The conference brought together operators, service companies, safety leaders and regulators to improve coordination with the goal of supporting safer operations.
Tarpley discussed SecureWell’s continued growth, outlining the Well Control & Containment and Person-In-Charge (PIC) courses and how each was shaped by field-driven input.
He emphasized the goal of creating a shared set of expectations and a common language around wellsite safety, highlighting the need for a consistent safety framework supported by clear standards and practical, real-world training.
EWTC is working with training partners to expand access and explore where additional courses could further support industry needs. As the program evolves, SecureWell will remain an important part of EWTC’s work to support the workforce and strengthen safety practices across the sector.
