Applied AI For Functional Leaders
WHO IT’S FOR
This program is designed for frontline
managers, middle managers, and department
leads who own recurring processes. No
technical background is required, and
attendees do not write code.
Overview
Energy Workforce’s GenAI Literacy and Prompt Engineering Course gave members a shared language for working with AI. Applied AI for Functional Leaders is the next step: attendees take recurring tasks they personally own and rebuild them as AI-assisted workflows, then run them in their own company over the following 6 weeks.
The program is presented by VectisOS and led by an instructor who spent 20 years running oilfield manufacturing operations before building AI systems for the sector. Attendance at the GenAI Literacy course is helpful but not required.
The full-day in-person session is followed by (3) 90-minute virtual sessions where attendees receive further training to refine the workflow in their own operation then report the hours it
recovered.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• Identify which tasks in an energy services or manufacturing business are worth
handing to AI, and which are not.
• Write instructions an AI model can act on and judge the output it returns.
• Work hands-on in your own company’s sanctioned platform. The workshop covers
Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Anthropic’s Claude, with attendees split into
working groups by platform for every exercise.
• Take home a printed cheat sheet for each of the three platforms — where the
features live, what each one calls them, and the prompt patterns that work in each.
