What Could the Midterm Elections Mean for the Energy Services Sector?

Energy Workforce will host its 2026 Midterm Election Outlook Webinar on Thursday, October 29, from 10:30–11:30 a.m. CT. With early voting underway in Texas and several other states, the discussion will examine competitive House and Senate races and what the results may mean for the sector’s priorities in the next Congress.

The conversation will cover the prospects for permitting reform, the administration’s energy agenda and the outlook for federal regulation. It will consider different scenarios for congressional control, including divided government, and where bipartisan agreement is possible. Andy Koenig, Founding Partner at Kwinn Consulting and A former Trump Administration White House Legislative Affairs official, will join the discussion. With more than 15 years of experience in government and politics, Koenig brings experience working directly with Congress and an understanding of the negotiations behind legislative decisions. The webinar offers members a focused discussion of the election outlook before Election Day and is free for Energy Workforce members.

Jeff Emerick, Director Government Affairs, writes about industry-specific policies for the Energy Workforce & Technology Council. Click here to subscribe to the Energy Workforce newsletter, which highlights sector-specific issues, best practices, activities and more.
