The Energy Workforce People & Culture Committee hosted a roundtable discussion on the evolving landscape of workplace policies and workforce management designed to aid companies in navigating recent regulatory changes. The committee, led by Kelly Munson, DNOW, featured Christian Antkowiak, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, discussing the biggest developments over the past year, the potential impact of recent executive actions on workplace policies, and other important topics that affect how employers manage their teams.
Antkowiak provided an overview on how recent executive orders have been enforced, key legal developments, and how companies are adapting their workforce practices in today’s environment. He reviewed recent and ongoing cases to show the practical implications of how new federal laws are being interpreted and potentially impacting companies in this space.
For energy services companies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and staying abreast of changes is critical to keeping their workforce safe and ensures a license to operate. Antkowiak acknowledged that for larger operations with international offices, there can a complex navigation of requirements in other countries versus the United States.
