2018 Annual Meeting Preview

Top industry leaders will meet April 25-27 in Greensboro, GA for the 2018 PESA Annual Meeting, focusing on opportunities in the upstream with a focus on ESG.

The meeting will kick off Wednesday with a keynote from General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), followed by Program Roundtables, new to this year’s event. Open to all attendees, these roundtables provide the opportunity to discuss current PESA goals and activities around STEM and energy education, the Middle East PESA Chapter, government relations, trade compliance and supply chain.

That evening, Members will have an opportunity to network with other top leaders of the sector with our Young Professionals Happy Hour, hosted by the Emerging Executives Committee, and the New Member Welcome Reception, hosted by the Membership Committee.

Thursday’s morning events include two panels addressing upstream operations and analyst reports.

The Upstream Perspectives Panel will feature Jeff Shellebarger, President, Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company; Greg Hill, President & COO, Hess Corporation; and Brendan McCracken, Vice President and General Manager, Northern Operations, Encana; with moderator Richard Alabaster, President – Surface Technologies, TechnipFMC.

The Analyst Panel will feature John Daniel, Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst, Oil Service, Simmons & Company International; Jim Wicklund, Managing Director – Energy Research, Credit Suisse; Jud Bailey, Managing Director, Senior Equity Analyst and Head of Oil Services & Equipment Research, Wells Fargo Securities; and moderated by Kirk Shelton, President – NOV Completion & Productions Solutions.

Thursday will also feature the presentation of the Engagement Committee’s “Oilfield Service & Supply Sector Gender Diversity Report.” PESA’s groundbreaking report, in partnership with Accenture, identifies activities needed to advance women into leadership positions in the OFS sector.

Friday’s activities include the ESG Panel: Social Responsibility & Opportunities for the Service Sector in Assisting the Industries in Achieving ESG Objectives. This panel will feature John Mingé, Chairman & President, BP America; Stephen Arbogast, Director, Kenan-Flagler Energy Center, University of North Carolina; Greg Gershuny, Managing Director, Energy and Environment, Aspen Institute; and moderator Dan Domeracki, Vice President, Government, Industry & Global Stewardship, Schlumberger.

Dr. Scott Tinker, Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin, will deliver a keynote entitled “Energy, Poverty and Carbon: Seeking the Radical Middle.”

The meeting will close with a Member Engagement Award. This award is presented at to the PESA member company who has made extraordinary strides in engagement; this includes attending events, serving on committees, hosting events at their facilities and sponsorships.
