2018 PESA Executive Leadership Program

A Year-Long Development Course

The PESA Emerging Leaders Committee, in partnership with Envision, an innovative global leader in corporate advising and coaching, will continue its forward-thinking talent management tool for the fourth consecutive year in 2018. The Executive Leadership Program provides an external opportunity for high potential personnel to engage in a structured year-long program that develops leadership skills in preparation for the responsibilities of future roles.

Two tracks, Engaging Leadership and Executive Presence, are offered in 2018 and participants may enroll in both. Both tracks offer unique development including: mentorship with a top-level PESA member executive, personal executive coaching, accountability tools, assessments, and group seminars. The material is suitable for senior leaders, as well as individuals assuming a leadership role for the first time.

Engaging Leadership Course Content

This program allows exploration of your sphere of influence in your organization and understanding how to leverage it to create positive organizational change. Analyze practices that support the development of healthy, productive organizational networks and culture. Apply leadership tools that create momentum and break down organizational silos, such as dialogue, facilitation, powerful questioning, effective listening and coaching. By the end of this course, you will have identified strategies that create a collaborative, resilient workplace and help to align people with your organizations vision in positive, productive ways.  This workshop develops leaders to learn:

  • The difference between the leader and boss
  • When to apply the six most common and effective leadership styles, including coaching
  • When to use a simple six-step coaching model and coach with VISION
  • Who to coach (know who needs development and when)
  • How to listen with Intention
  • Envisions Level 5: People Development™
  • Three forms of feedback, how to deliver it and which form to use
  • How to lead with influence

Executive Presence Course Content

The Executive Presence approach comprises lectures, group discussions, case analyses, videos and experiential coaching, emphasizing self-reflection and linking concepts to your own vision for a greater future. The Executive Presence process will guide and coach leaders to learn:

  • Managing your personal brand to initiate, inspire and influence
  • Building and sustaining a consistent, authentic executive presence
  • Expanding your leadership competencies to lead and motivate
  • Communicating with poise, passion and inspiration
  • Identifying the four unexpected qualities for inspiring followers
  • Developing an action plan based on your goals and your organization’s strategy
