Scholarship program has provided more than $4.4 million in educational support over four decades
HOUSTON — The Energy Workforce & Technology Council has awarded $27,000 in scholarships to 54 students for the 2026-27 academic year, continuing a more than 40-year commitment to supporting education and workforce development.
The scholarships were awarded to students connected to Energy Workforce member companies across the United States. Recipients include employees, spouses and dependents pursuing college degrees, graduate studies and accredited vocational training programs.
Since its inception in the 1970s, the Energy Workforce Scholarship Program has awarded more than $4.4 million to help students achieve their educational goals and prepare for successful careers across a wide range of professions.
“Strong industries are built by strong communities, and this scholarship program is one way our members invest in the families who help power the energy workforce,” said Molly Determan, President, Energy Workforce & Technology Council. “For more than 40 years, the program has helped member company employees and their dependents pursue higher education and build their own futures, wherever those paths may lead. These 54 students represent talent, determination and promise, and we are proud to support their next step.”
The scholarship program is funded through local and national fundraising efforts led by Energy Workforce chapters and member companies. Key fundraising events include the Permian Basin Chapter Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament and Clay Shoot, and the Oklahoma Chapter Clay Shoot, among other industry-supported initiatives throughout the year.
The 2026-27 scholarship recipients represent member companies from across the energy services sector, including Axis Energy Services, Beusa Energy, ClearWell Dynamics, Evolution Well Services, Flowco, GD Energy Products, Key Energy Services, Kodiak Gas Services, Lucky Oilfield Services, Milestone Environmental, NOV, Oil States Energy Services, Palmer Johnson Power Systems and SLB.
