2024 Annual Meeting Preview: New Energies Panel

Energy Workforce’s premier annual event takes place April 24-25 in Scottsdale, AZ. With a focus on “Capturing the Future: Utilizing Our Talent & Technology to Support the Evolving Energy Landscape,” the lineup of speakers includes operators and leaders from all sectors of the oil and gas industry who will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the current market and industry dynamics.

Along with signature keynotes, leading industry executives will share an New Energies Panel on how the industry is evolving. Sector experts will provide insights during the Onshore Operators Perspective, Offshore Operators Perspective, Molecules & Megawatts Fireside Chat New Energies Panel and the From the Wellhead to Consumers Panel.

The New Energies panel will address opportunities for collaboration between traditional oil and gas companies and new energy firms, sharing strategic insights on driving innovation, optimizing portfolio diversification and cultivating collaborative partnerships in the evolving energy business.

Speakers include:

Nicolas de Coignac, President of the Americas, John Cockerill: Nicolas de Coignac is a seasoned C-Level leader with more than 30 years of experience in business transformation and development. He is passionate about team building and leadership, management efficiency, and international environment. Nicolas has held various leadership positions at Vallourec, including CEO, Strategy – Transformation – Innovation, Chief Executive Officer, and President. He has also worked at Energia Group as a Senior Vice President and a Senior Vice President. Nicolas is based in Paris, France.

Sandhya Ganapathy

Sandhya Ganapathy, CEO, EDP Renewables, North: Sandhya Ganapathy is the CEO for EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) and a member of the Management Team of EDP Renewables (EDPR), the fourth largest renewable energy producer in the world. Sandhya joined EDPR in 2012 as Head of Investments and M&A North America. From 2017 to her CEO appointment in early 2022, she served as Global Head of Investments and M&A, responsible for M&A, investment and capital allocation decisions, and asset rotation for EDPR across all of its geographies. She was also a member of EDPR’s investment committee. Prior to joining EDPR, Sandhya worked as an investment banker for more than a decade with regional and global banks across multiple geographies. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon and is a Chartered Accountant from India.

Laura Luce

Laura Luce, CEO, Hy Stor Energy: Laura Luce has been active in the energy industry for over twenty-five years in varying roles, most recently focused on Green Hydrogen, Long-Duration Renewable Energy Storage, Metal Hydrides, and renewable energy-related technologies. Leadership and project development experience extending from strategy to development, commercialization and operations in over $5B of large scale energy infrastructure projects, developments, and operations in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Michigan, and Wyoming, with various other energy projects in Arizona, Colorado, New York, California and Ohio primarily focused on the reliability and storage of energy via underground storage in salt domes and reservoirs to include associated infrastructure.

Sal Pareja

MODERATOR: Sal Pareja, Managing Director, Goldman Sachs: Sal is a member of the Global Natural Resources Group and the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in the Investment Banking Division. He relocated to Houston in 2013 where he serves as the sector captain for the Oilfield Services and Equipment sector in North America. Sal joined Goldman Sachs in 2006 as an analyst in the Global Natural Resources Group in New York and was named managing director in 2017. Sal earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2006.
