HOUSTON– The Energy Workforce & Technology Council released the following statement applauding the U.S. House of Representatives for passing Rep. August Pfluger’s Protecting American Energy Production Act, marking a critical step forward in safeguarding domestic energy security and ensuring continued access to reliable and affordable American energy resources.
H.R.1121 reinforces the essential role of domestic oil and gas production in strengthening U.S. energy independence, protecting national security, and supporting American jobs. The legislation further prevents a moratorium on fracking to protect American energy production and expresses that states have primacy over energy production on state and private lands.
By preventing federal overreach that could hinder domestic energy development, the legislation promotes policies that enable the United States to remain the world’s energy leader.
“The passage of Rep. Pflugers Protecting American Energy Production Act out of the House is a significant victory for American energy workers and the millions who rely on affordable and dependable energy every day,” said Energy Workforce President Tim Tarpley. “H.R. 1121 recognizes the critical role of domestic oil and gas production in securing America’s future and preventing misguided policies that threaten our energy security. A strong domestic energy industry is not just about economic prosperity—it is about safeguarding America’s strategic interests at home and abroad.”
Energy Workforce & Technology Council calls on the U.S. Senate to take up and pass this critical legislation without delay. Ensuring a stable and robust domestic energy industry is essential to maintaining economic growth, national security, and energy affordability for all Americans.
