EWTC President Molly Determan Brings Energy Workforce Perspective to Global Security Stage

Returning from a great few days in Washington, D.C., where the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum brought energy leaders, policymakers, and industry innovators together to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the sector.

In a fireside chat, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy reminded us that U.S. domestic production isn’t just about economics, it’s about global stability. As recent geopolitical events have made abundantly clear, reliable partnerships matter more than ever. Alaska provides a direct Pacific route that bypasses traditional chokepoints, offering allies a more secure energy supply from a trusted source.

Schneider Electric Chairman Jean-Pascal Tricoire covered the topic on everyone’s mind – AI, and how we we will generate enough power with speed, durability and a workforce ready for what’s next.

“Power generation is only half of the story, though,” UAE’s Sultan Al Jaber said. “Getting the power to the end user is the other half, and . . . it’s the more complex part of that equation.” Beyond investment, policy can also help, he added, pointing to measures that de-risk capital investments and fast-track permitting.

The US has everything we need to lead. We have the resources, the innovation, and the partnerships to meet this moment and to power the future.
