Louisiana Chapter Hosts Luncheon Featuring Chevron’s Neil Menzies

Energy Workforce’s Louisiana Chapter, led by Chair Deidre Toups, Senior Vice President, Mergers, Acquisitions and Integration with Superior Energy Services, held a luncheon on October 3 in Lafayette with Neil Menzies, Director, Gulf of America with Chevron.

Tim Tarpley, President of the Energy Workforce & Technology Council, opened the luncheon, discussing the increasing demand for energy and its long-term impacts on the sector. He also shared insights on the government shutdown, the 2026 midterm elections and permitting reform.

Neil Menzies spoke about the importance of discipline and assessing the risks in business. He noted that the Chevron motto is “Do it Safety or not at all.” Neil told the audience that one of the key benefits of production in the Gulf of America is that it is home to some of the world’s lowest-carbon-intensity oil and gas. Menzies shared insights into multiple projects Chevron and Hess have ongoing in the Gulf, including the first of its kind, Anchor facility. Neil left the attendees with a final thought: Chevron is excited about the future of production in the Gulf and how it is ramping up to record production.
