What’s Changing in Supply Chain Isn’t Theoretical: It’s Happening Now

Energy Workforce’s Supply Chain Committee met this week with a clear focus: how the industry is adapting in real time to shifting market pressures and what that means for the months ahead.

Hosted by Halliburton and led by Committee Chair Ryan Carr of Kodiak Gas Services, the conversation centered on the practical challenges companies are working through right now, from cost pressures and tariffs to sourcing strategies and operational efficiency.

This wasn’t a high-level discussion. It was grounded in what companies are actually seeing and doing.

That perspective carried into a tour of Halliburton’s Sperry Drilling Assembly and Testing Facility, where committee members saw firsthand how tools are built, tested, and deployed in the field. It was a reminder that supply chain decisions don’t sit in isolation. They directly impact execution, reliability, and performance on the job.

Looking ahead, those same themes will take center stage at the 2026 Supply Chain Conference.

Save the date for the 2026 Supply Chain Committee:

Set for September 23, 2026, at HMH in Houston, the conference will bring together leaders across the value chain to dig into what’s next. The agenda will focus on where the market is heading and how companies are responding, with specific attention to the role of AI in improving efficiency, the ongoing impact of tariffs, and how sourcing strategies are evolving in a more complex environment.

The goal is straightforward: create a space where operators, service companies, and supply chain leaders can compare notes, challenge assumptions, and walk away with a clearer view of how to navigate what’s ahead.

Thank you to Halliburton for hosting this month’s committee meeting. In preparation for the committee’s annual Supply Chain Conference this fall, the group will reconvene for its third-quarter meeting at Mustang CAT.
