Advisory Board Member David de Roode Talks Risks, Branding with Up and Coming Industry Leaders

De Roode
PESA Advisory Board Member David de Roode led PESA’s first remote Leadership Forum, which brought together future industry leaders in a discussion of risk management and personal branding.

In his opening remarks, de Roode, Partner and Executive Vice President of Lockton Global Marine & Energy, described events in his career and life that formed him as a leader.

de Roode discussed his many endeavors outside of OFS and the office. He leads many organizations, including non-profits, and he said much of his activity centers around his passion for improving the community. The rewards go beyond returns for his company, he said.

“What you do in the community speaks volumes about your character.”

de Roode said he prides himself on getting out of the office and talking to people.

Putting associates first and positioning people to become successful is something I strongly believe in.” [/su_quote]

Following a group Q&A, participants broke into small groups for a deeper discussion of leadership with industry colleagues. Attendees zeroed in on the importance of how a leader treats their team.

“There is a trickle-down effect with leaders,” Stephan Selinidis, Senior Counsel, Exterran, said. “A leader treating his team right will lead to your team treating your customers right.”

Once brought back together, the cohort discussed key takeaways from their discussions and looked forward to the next forum taking place on October 15.

PESA Leadership Forums provide high performers with the opportunity to interact with PESA Leadership in an informal setting. Check the PESA Events Calendar for information on our next forum.
