PESA Continues Supporting Girls, Women in Houston Area

IMG_0450As part of its commitment to championing the causes important to members and the local Houston community, PESA recently sponsored the 10th anniversary celebration of the opening of Redeemed’s Sparrow House.

The residential program provides long-term, trauma-informed residential program to help victims of sex trafficking become survivors. The virtual event and fundraiser provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about sex trafficking in the Houston area, how Redeemed approaches the issue and how community partners can amplify the message.

This advocacy is part of the PESA ESG Committee’s mission to show best practices on environmental, social and governance issues among members.

Additionally, this week PESA sponsored the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto’s “Success to Significance” program, which also celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2020. The luncheon supports local Houston Girl Scout programs, including leadership development, for the nearly 58,000 girls served across a 26-county region.

This year attendees heard virtually from Girl Scout alum, Dr. Jennifer Arnold, neonatologist, simulation educator, and co-star of TLC’s The Little Couple.

For more information on how to get involved in these efforts, contact PESA Director Government Affairs Maria Suarez.
