Argentina Trade Mission Highlights Expanding Opportunities for U.S. Energy Companies

Argentina is rapidly emerging as a significant energy growth market, with the development of the Vaca Muerta region, major infrastructure investments, and expanding oil and gas production creating new opportunities for U.S. energy technology and services companies. For U.S. companies, the growth of the Vaca Muerta region represents an opportunity to bring American technology, expertise and services into a market undergoing significant energy transformation.

The Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce, will host the Argentina Oil, Gas and Energy Infrastructure Certified Trade Mission (CTM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 9–11, 2026. The delegation will be accompanied by The Honorable David L. Fogel, Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of the United States and Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.

The Certified Trade Mission will provide participating U.S. companies with opportunities to engage directly with Argentine government and industry stakeholders and identify commercial opportunities across the oil and gas value chain.

Areas of opportunity include:

  • Drilling and completion equipment
  • Hydraulic fracturing technologies and services
  • Oilfield services and technologies
  • Logistics and field infrastructure
  • Pipelines and gathering systems
  • Processing and compression
  • Digital technologies and ICT infrastructure
  • Energy infrastructure and related services

The mission also offers U.S. companies an opportunity to better understand emerging commercial opportunities under the U.S.-Argentina Agreement on Reciprocal Trade and Investment (ARTI). Reduced trade barriers and stronger bilateral cooperation could further support U.S. companies seeking to enter or expand their presence in the Argentine market.

For EWTC members, Argentina represents more than an international market opportunity. It is an important opportunity to strengthen the reach of U.S. energy technology, services and supply-chain capabilities.

As Argentina works to translate Vaca Muerta’s resource potential into increased production, exports and energy infrastructure, U.S. companies can play an important role in providing the technologies and services necessary to develop those resources efficiently and reliably. Expanding commercial relationships between U.S. and Argentine companies can also strengthen energy security, diversify supply chains and reinforce the role of U.S. energy technology in global markets.

The mission offers EWTC members an opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers, identify potential customers and partners, and gain a firsthand understanding of one of Latin America’s most consequential energy development opportunities.
