Building U.S. Energy Partnerships in Africa

Energy Workforce & Technology Council (EWTC), in partnership with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), will host a Houston reception on October 20 for a senior-level delegation from Angola and Mozambique participating in a USTDA-sponsored trade mission focused on the oil and gas sector.

The delegation will bring together senior decision-makers from government, national oil and gas companies, and energy infrastructure organizations in both countries. The engagement will provide EWTC members with an opportunity to build relationships, better understand market priorities, and explore potential partnerships across the energy value chain.

Africa represents an important opportunity for U.S. energy companies. As countries across the continent expand oil and gas production, develop natural gas resources, and invest in energy infrastructure, they seek the technology, equipment, services, and expertise U.S. companies can provide.

Markets such as Angola and Mozambique offer opportunities to expand international market access, develop new commercial relationships, and extend the global reach of American energy technology and expertise. These engagements also support U.S. energy leadership by strengthening global energy markets and positioning American companies as trusted partners.

The delegation is expected to include representatives from:

Angola:

  • National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG)
  • Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola, E.P. (Sonangol)
  • Sonangol Gás Natural (SonaGás)
  • Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (MIREMPET)
  • National Agency of Mineral Resources (ANRM)

Mozambique:

Carpe Diem International / True North LDA

Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy (MIREME)

Matola Gas Company

Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH)

Instituto Nacional de Petróleo (INP)

Office for Reforms and Strategic Projects (GREP)

Portos de Cabo Delgado

EWTC members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to engage directly with senior African energy leaders. Whether your company provides technology, equipment, services, infrastructure solutions, or workforce expertise, this reception is an opportunity to identify emerging needs, introduce your capabilities, and build relationships that could lead to future business.
