Council Builds Relationships at OTC

Last week the Council participated in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) held in Houston, connecting Members and representatives from across the energy industry. This annual event is an opportunity for stakeholders in the offshore energy sector to come together to highlight the latest innovations and opportunities in the industry. The conference hosts a speaker series, networking opportunities and a robust trade show where Council Member Companies could showcased new technologies.

More than 2,200 exhibitors participated at OTC including Council Member Companies AUGE, Caterpillar Inc., Dragon Products, Endeavor Business Media, Kerr Pumps & Valves, M&M International, Oil States Industries, Stress Engineering Services and WN Global. Their exhibits featured the services and technology that make the offshore energy sector more resilient, cleaner and more efficient.

In addition to the significant private industry presence, OTC hosted more than 20 delegations from foreign governments. These international delegations were comprised of high-ranking government officials, business leaders and diplomats, all with the shared interested of expanding the offshore energy industry in their respective countries.

The Council hosted a tour of the trade floor with the delegation from Guyana. The energy sector in Guyana is rapidly expanding, and the country’s political and business leaders are using this emerging industry to grow and enhance their entire economy.

Council staff met with members of Guyana’s Private Sector Commission to highlight the breadth of work and opportunities Member Companies can bring to support the country’s offshore industry. The delegation visited exhibits from Member Companies Oil States Industries, Caterpillar, Inc. and Dragon Products, each of whom highlighted products and services that could benefit the emerging offshore market in Guyana.

Council staff was present throughout the week at its booth on the trade floor. Staff members met with OTC attendees to network and build relationships with fellow organizations. The Council will use the insights and opportunities gained through OTC to continue promoting and advocating for the energy services and technology sector.
