Energy Workforce & Technology Council has elected new members to its Advisory Board in 2023. The Advisory Board contributes to Energy Workforce’s strategic direction, promotes participation within their companies and serves in key leadership roles in the energy technology and services sector of the oil and gas industry.
The new Advisory Board members include:
- Scott Gale, Executive Director, Halliburton Labs
- Kevin McDonald, EVP, CAO & General Counsel, NexTier Oilfield Solutions
- Akshay Sagar, President, Universal Pressure Pumping
Scott Gale is Executive Director of Halliburton Labs.
He is responsible for overseeing all activities and is hyper-focused on participant companies’ success. Scott is also a member of the Halliburton Labs Advisory Board. Scott built his commercial and technical acumen through his time with Dow Chemical, later Solvay and now with Halliburton. He started with Halliburton in 2014 and since then has managed multiple strategic efforts throughout his career to take new technologies from ideation to commercial success at scale. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Rice Business School. He also holds business strategy and executive leadership certifications from Caltech and Texas A&M respectively.
Kevin McDonald is EVP, CAO & General Counsel at NexTier Oilfield Solutions.
Kevin serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of NexTier Oilfield Solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining NexTier, he served in leadership roles at Marathon Oil Corporation from 2012 to 2016, including as Deputy General Counsel of Corporate Legal Services and Government Relations and Deputy General Counsel of Governance, Compliance & Corporate Services. He joined Keane Group, Inc. as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary in November 2016. Kevin also practiced as a partner at the international law firm Fulbright & Jaworski LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright LLP), served as the general counsel and chief compliance officer for an S&P 500 company, Cooper Industries (now Eaton) and held leadership positions at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Valero Energy Corporation. Kevin received a Bachelors in Science from Texas A&M University in Agricultural Economics and Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.
Akshay Sagar is President at Universal Pressure Pumping.
Akshay has been President of Universal Pressure Pumping since 2020. He began in the industry in 2006 with SLB as a wireline operations manager. He continued to hold roles of increasing responsibility at SLB until 2013, when he joined Halliburton as a business manager for drilling and drilling engineering solutions. He became Vice President – WDI for Weatherford in 2017, and then held various senior roles at Patterson-UTI from 2018-2020. Akshay has a bachelor’s degree in technology and civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
