Energy Workforce Hosts OFS Press Briefing to International Journalists

international

Energy Workforce hosted a delegation of international reporters last week as part of an energy-focused tour of Houston organized through the State Department Foreign Press Center. The delegation participated in an hour-long briefing with Energy Workforce Presidents Molly Determan and Tim Tarpley to discuss the mission of the organization and the role our companies play in oil and gas production globally.

The 16 reporters represented publications from Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and were keenly interested in the role the U.S. oil and gas industry plays in providing energy security to countries around the world. Energy Workforce hosted the final stop on a two-day long tour that included visits to Houston LNG facilities, meetings with local elected officials, and academic and business organizations.

The discussion with the delegation included questions about the role Energy Workforce Member Companies play in reducing emissions, training workforce and advocating for regulatory and legislative actions. Determan and Tarpley underscored many of the common themes discussed throughout the week, specifically highlighting the important role Energy Workforce companies play in the production and deployment of hydrocarbons.

This on-the-record meeting was a valuable opportunity to amplify Energy Workforce’s mission and role as part of the organization’s ongoing education and advocacy activities. Additionally, the event reinforced the 30-year-long partnership between Energy Workforce and the U.S. State Department through individual education and networking events, as well as the biannual State Department Houston Energy Course.

Energy Workforce will continue to utilize its international initiatives to amplify and educate global leaders on the important work of the industry.
