The Permian Basin Chapter of the Energy Workforce & Technology Council held a luncheon with Michael Oestmann, CEO of Tall City Exploration, LLC, on September 26 in Midland.
Energy Workforce President Molly Determan opened the event by welcoming attendees and providing a brief update on the state of the association. She also highlighted upcoming events and programs offered by the Energy Workforce. Scott Livingston, Board Chairman and President of Energy Products & Services Equipment at NOV, addressed the audience, encouraging them to engage with the Energy Workforce. He extended special thanks to Steve Pruett, CEO of Elevation Resources, who was present, for his collaboration efforts with the Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA).
The keynote speaker, Michael Oestmann, shared insights into the history of Tall City Exploration and emphasized the importance of simplicity in creating value. He outlined the key components of a successful vendor-producer relationship, including timely payments, a fair bidding process, loyalty, and partnership from both sides. From the operator’s perspective, Oestmann emphasized the need for technical and operational excellence. He also made a noteworthy prediction: by 2050, oil and gas consumption will surpass today’s levels, with the Permian Basin being a key driver of natural gas growth.
Following Oestmann’s presentation, Ryan Tull, Managing Director of Energy & Power at Piper Sandler, invited Adam Anderson, CEO of Innovex to a fireside chat. They provided attendees with valuable insights into market trends, offering perspectives from both an analyst and customer standpoint.
The Energy Workforce would like to thank the luncheon sponsors and strategic partners.
