Energy Workforce & Technology Council is honored to announce industry legacy Rick Muncrief as this year’s recipient of the 2026 Platinum Award—our highest and most distinguished accolade—to be presented during the Annual Meeting on March 31-April 1 in Tucson, AZ.
Muncrief began his career at ConocoPhillips, with earlier roles at Burlington Resources, Meridian Oil, and El Paso Exploration, building the technical and operational foundation that shaped his leadership approach. He later served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Resource Development at Continental Resources before becoming President and CEO of Devon Energy following its merger with WPX Energy.
Over decades in the industry, Muncrief has led companies through growth, innovation and transformative transactions. Today, he continues to influence the sector through board service and strategic leadership across the energy landscape.
