Last week, EWTC launched the Brazil section of our Latin America Chapter with a kickoff reception in Rio de Janeiro during the OTC event. The event brought together members, government officials, and industry leaders from the U.S. and Brazil to discuss collaboration, training, and shared priorities across the energy sector.
The event was held in conjunction with the U.S. Commercial Service and the Consulate in Rio de Janeiro. Manoj Desai, Commercial Counselor with the U.S. Commercial Service, kicked off the event with EWTC President Tim Tarpley and Simao Silva, Brazil Country Manager, Oceaneering, speaking about the opportunities in Brazil for OFS companies and the plans for the chapter. The group was honored to be joined by several senior Brazilian Government Officials, including Sergio Chaves, Technical Undersecretary for Energy and Oceans.
Brazil has long been a key player in energy production and technology, and the conversations in Rio made clear the significant opportunities for collaboration. This expansion builds on the success of our chapters in the Middle East and Argentina. It will allow our member company employees in Brazil access to networking, workforce training and member benefits. The chapter will also help liaise with the Brazilian Government as needed and help guide EWTC members who wish to enter the market. As our members continue to operate and innovate across borders, EWTC’s role is to help advance a skilled, globally connected workforce ready to meet the industry’s evolving needs.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Brazil Chapter launch and to our event sponsors, HMH and Allison Transmission, as well as our strategic partners, Chevron and SLB.
