Pennsylvania: Study Finds No Link between Marcellus Shale Development and Health Impacts

Upstream Conventional & Unconventional Onshore Development

A study conducted by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania looked at the impact of Marcellus Shale development on public health in the northeast and southwest regions of Pennsylvania and found nothing definitive to link drilling with negative health impacts. The study also found that, thanks to economic growth associated with new development, more people had access to health insurance and higher paying jobs, which has positively impacted public health in the state.
