2017 PESA Fly-In to Highlight Innovation, Strength of Service Sector

2016flyingroupRepresentatives from PESA member companies will visit lawmakers and staff on Capitol Hill as part of the annual PESA Washington Fly-In occurring February 26-28. The Fly-in is an important part of PESA’s efforts to elevate the story of the service, supply, and manufacturing sector to policymakers.

As a new Administration and Congress take charge, PESA leaders will be highlighting our sector’s commitment to the principles of Innovation; Health, Safety, and Environment; Education and Workforce Development; Energy Security; and Jobs. There will be more than 20 meetings scheduled over two days with lawmakers from both parties in both the House and the Senate as part of the event.

In addition, attendees will gain the insight of energy experts from policy institutes and the media. A panel of Customer Washington Representatives will discuss their outlook for key legislative and regulatory issues. Representatives from the International Trade Administration (ITA) will share their goals and objectives for the ITA/PESA partnership.

Fly-in attendees will have an opportunity to highlight the role of innovation as their companies work to improve safety and reduce environmental footprints. The need for regulations to reflect these efforts and not lead to unintended consequences will be emphasized.

Along with innovation, driving greater understanding of the role the sector plays in making oil and gas exploration and development possible is another key message that Fly-in attendees will deliver. Educational materials for lawmakers highlighting the full scope of the oilfield supply chain, from raw steel forgings to precision technology will help tell the story of the sector.

Companies that have already registered include: Cameron, Cummins Sales & Service, DistributionNOW, FairfieldNodal, Forged Products, Inc., Halliburton, M&M International, SOR, Inc., Stallion Oilfield Services Ltd., Vallourec USA Corporation and Weir Oil & Gas.

We encourage you to join the PESA Fly-in and help us elevate the profile of our sector in Washington. If you have any questions, please contact PESA Sr. Director Public Policy Jean Gould at [email protected].
