Congress Comes Back for a Busy Week with LNG Potentially in the Mix

On Thursday of last week, the House passed H.R. 7176, “Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act” 224-200. This strong vote total is somewhat of a rarity in the closely divided partisan House. The yes votes included a number of Democrats who crossed party lines to support the legislation. Democratic members Caraveo, Cuellar, Costa, Golden, Gonzalez, Larsen, Peltola, Perez and Veasey all supported the measure. Democrats were not hesitant to express their support for the measure. “I’m for American energy, I’m for Texas, and I’m for my congressional district, as simple as that,” said Gonzalez. “Some people have really lost it on the idea of how we treat American energy in this country.”

PESA Member Weatherford Adds Dr. Mario Ruscev to Senior Management Group

Dr. Mario Ruscev is joining PESA Member Weatherford International as a senior operating executive reporting directly to the CEO

Dr. Ruscev brings over 25 years of operations experience in the oilfield service and technology industries, having served as V.P. and CTO of Baker Hughes Inc. since August 2012. He previously served as CEO of Geotech Seismic Services, CEO of FormFactor Inc. and in various management positions at Schlumberger Ltd., including as president of several product lines.

Dr. Ruscev is a director of the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute and holds a Doctorate in Nuclear Physics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and a PhD in Nuclear Physics from Yale University.

“Dr. Ruscev’s deep operational expertise, proven capability and outstanding leadership skills in the oilfield services andtechnology industries will be tremendous assets, as we continue on our transformational path, driving increased performance and continuing to develop the quality of operational leadership,” said Bernard J.
