The PESA Middle East Regional District Chapter hosted its inaugural Oil & Gas 101 Industry Training September 8 at NOV’s Jebel Ali Facility in Dubai.
PESA Regional District Chair, Dennis Jol, VP International, DistributionNOW and PESA Regional District Vice Chair, Ed Whitnell, VP Operations, NOV, welcomed inter-agency attendees from the U.S. Trade Department and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, as well as Navy and Special Forces representing UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.
The group heard from industry and subject matter experts from DistributionNOW, Halliburton, NOV, The Risk Advisory Group, SCHLÜTER GRAF Legal Consultants, TechnipFMC and Weir Oil & Gas.
Discussion topics included rig systems and drilling support, drilling and constructing a well, surface equipment and refining, engineered solutions from the rig to the refinery, supply chain, politics in energy sector policies and local content. The group also took a facility and rig tour of NOV’s Drilling Rig Assembly Site.
