Second Iteration of Integrated Leadership Program Concludes with Focus on Leadership, Influence, and Cross-Functional Collaboration

The second offering of the Executive Leadership Program: Integrated Leadership cohort, in partnership with Heidrick & Struggles, wrapped up the year’s final session last week. Throughout the program, participants honed their leadership skills, empowering them to lead confidently and effectively and navigate the challenges of their teams and organizations.

After a recap of prior sessions, facilitators Doug Orr and Laura Gironda, Heidrick & Struggles, with an emphasis on collaboration across various functions and the importance of effective communication. They underscored the significance of self-awareness, curiosity, courage, vulnerability, and empathy in leadership. Key concepts discussed included the notion of delegation and understanding the underlying factors that drive behaviors.

Participants engaged in a scenario exercise focused on the dynamics of managing internal and external stakeholders in a hypothetical organization. This exercise aimed to illuminate effective strategies for influencing and engaging those stakeholders.

An additional breakout session allowed participants to explore workforce dynamics and crisis management. This exercise examined the implications of significant events on workforce morale and the necessary strategies for management.

The breakouts were followed by debrief sessions that provided opportunities for both in-person and online participants to share their key insights, building on learnings from previous modules.

“Going through these exercises has forced me to think outside the box of what I do within my role within the organization, being mindful about not working within silos and making sure that communication within the organization is thorough.”

-Program Participant

As the final session of the program came to a close, Board of Directors Vice Chair Sam Sledge, CEO & Director of ProPetro Services, Inc., joined the session to share his personal story and experiences, emphasizing the importance of influence and awareness in leadership, leaving attendees inspired. Participants also had the chance to engage in an exclusive Q&A session with Sam.

“Now that you have completed this program, in addition to outward influence, I challenge you to look for opportunities on a regular basis to tell your story, because you’ll generate awareness and influence on yourself, which is number one.”

Congratulations to all participants. Energy Workforce will be sharing information on graduation details with all attendees.
